I never imagined I would be photographing elopements, let alone in the most beautiful areas of the world. The Grand Canyon is my back yard. I have chosen well, turning my personal passion into a career, capturing their most love-soaked transformational life event where everyone is truly present and guests are invited as the most important people in my couple’s life.

My life has been a series of maverick choices, long before elopements were a thing. I live my dream … riding my horses, training my mustang, biking with my wolfies and exploring the most amazing natures of the world.   • Elopements have the intention of connecting in an intimate, authentic experience where the couple can feel present without the distractions of a timeline and trying to keep their guests entertained and happy. My couples makes their union the priority and choose a location that inspires and lifts their spirit as one of many adventures shared on their new journey. Traditional weddings are within the confines of a narrative that is focused more on their guests and the ideal celebration format that requires a building, catering, decor, bridal party, lodging, and day-of coordinator to enforce the timeline. This typically requires a minimum of 6 to 8 hours. Elopements focus on the couple only, with the option of meeting up later in the evening to have a traditional party setting.

    • Yes, each state has their own Marriage License Requirements. Arizona Marriage Licenses are issued by AZ Country Clerks. Sedona is within Yavapai County, however you can obtain a Marriage License within 30 days of your wedding at any county clerk in AZ.

    • Location & Flexibility: Both parties must appear together and in person, unless you arrange a mailing option with Mohave County, AZ.

    • Once you are married: Your signed and witnessed (2 witness’) license must be returned my mail or in person to be legal. I suggest paying for the option of expedited handling when obtaining your license prior to your wedding.

    • Required Paperwork: When applying for your license, you will need a valid government-issued photo ID (drivers license or passport). A Social Security Number (for US citizens). If you’ve been married before, you will need prior marriage details (accurate divorce date or death certificate)

    • 2 Witness’ over the age of 18.

    • Legal Officiant: Licensed Officiant registered in Arizona. Or an ordained minister or clergy, Judge, or court clerk.

    • Weddings within National Parks will require a Park Permit. Sedona does not require a permit to marry on the red rocks.

    • Sedona, AZ: Your photographer is your best source of information for your elopement in Sedona, offering many of their inside location tips, the best vendors to contact for hair & makeup, florals and a few restaurants that will allow wedding parties. Larger group weddings & receptions will require a day-off planner. All day traditional weddings at a venue are required to have a wedding planner.

    • Grand Canyon, AZ: You personally must apply for your National Park Wedding Location Permit, however your photographer can recommend the best time of year, the top view locations for specific reasons, hair & makeup artists, your officiant, florals, restaurants and lodging in the area. Not all places at the Grand Canyon have air-conditioning for summer!

    • Horseshoe Bent, Page: Ask your wedding photographer for the local tips and suggestions due to critical tourist seasons.

    • All Inclusive Packages: All inclusive packages are offered by your photographer that will include your AZ Officiant and the option of florals.

    • Photography Coverage: Let your photographer know if you expect getting ready photos at a separate location, that will include details of the day. You are booking your photographer for their time spent with you, being your guide, your expert and location scout. You will book your meet-up start time and typically continue through the day until your beautiful sunset moments are captured at your jaw dropping location. This could be a few hours or a couple days of adventuring.

      Packages & Pricing

  • The red rocks of Sedona are open to the public with a $5. day fee at the parking lots. Wedding permits are not required for the red rocks, however certain locations are more appropriate for guests than others. Parking at the different trail heads is fairly easy during the slower winter months. There are certain trail heads that require the Sedona City Shuttle for access after 6:30 AM, such as Cathedral Rock.

    • Tourist season is also wedding season. Trail head parking is a challenge for the epic sunset window. For example, If you are bringing guests to your elopement during Oct.-Nov. you will need to hire a shuttle for drop off and pick up. Zeus tours has numerous size vehicles and buses. The Red Rock Magic Trolley is also a popular wedding arrival, as is Sedona Trolley.

    • The Grand Canyon has buses during the warmer summer months that are free.

    • Weddings at Merry Go Round are a fun jeep excursion to the highest point overlooking all of Sedona. You have the option of renting jeeps with Red Rock Rubicon, or booking a wedding tour with the numerous jeep companies in Sedona.

  • Many couples will elope alone, however for those families that are coming to Sedona as a group, there are a few more arrangements to be made.

    • Lodging: Airbnb & VRBO properties are abundant in Sedona. Your photographer will personally know of a few properties that allow 16 guests.(The Grand Canyon is 45 minutes from the nearest cities of Williams or Flagstaff).

    • Restaurants for wedding parties: Winters are the most flexible time for booking your wedding party of 6. Parties over 6 are discouraged at the local restaurants during tourist season. There are a number of reception locations or catering locations to choose from for small parties. Ask your photographer.

    • Rental Cars: Enterprise Car Rental, Red Rock Rubicon, or Zeus M. Tours.

    • Closest Commercial Airports: Flagstaff Pullman Airport is 40 minutes from Sedona. Phoenix Skyharbor airport is 2 hours away. Las Vegas Airport is 4 hours away.

    • Sedona City Shuttle Service

  • If you are flying in, you will be renting a car from either the Flagstaff, Phoenix or Las Vegas airports. There are airport shuttles, however once you arrive in Sedona you will require a car or jeep. Uber is non existent in Sedona, as well as Taxis.
